mounted a reversing camera mk3
#1
i have mounted a reversing camera in the car along With 7" multimedia player. the player is alowing me to use all the funcktions in the top dash display as normal, and the steering Wheel Controls also Works.
the player was plugg and play. grounded the handbrake cable to the chassie of the cd-player.

to get the screen to switch when i put the car in R. i had to feed the player With a signal from the R-light cable. when i put the car in R the Power from the R-light Powers a auto menu in the cd-player and changes the screen to camera.
i found one cable on the passenger side under the carpet. my cable was Brown. its easy to Reach it.

i wanted a neat look for the camera on the back of my car. so i tok my dremmel and cut a hole in the vin-light. and used superglue to Mount the camera temp. to i got the right angle. when that was done, i used some black silicone to glue it in Place.

my plan is to get a smooth surface and Paint the hole thing in the cars colour.
so i think that would hide the camera even more.

i hid the phono cable behind the covers from the front to back.
and used the revrse light cable in the rear to Power the camera, and grounded the camera in the grounding screw near the left rear light.

and the cables to the camera (phono, + , -) is going ïnside the back door and Down to the vin-light where the camera is mounted.

Thinking of doing this to mine soon as I can't seem to find a replacement vin light with built in camera. There are a couple on ebay for picasso, c2,c3,c4,c5 but not berlingo van. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310768958872?s...1423.l2649

depends on what camera
connect the video (usually yellow) to monitor,
connect the power (usually red) to reverse light

Looks great, I'm looking to do the same before I reverse into soemthing! Can you tell me where you got the head unit/media screen? Or where I can find one that works with all the functions on the top screen and the steering wheel control

I ended up fitting a wireless micro camera in rear bumper, can hardly see it but great picture and didn't have to cut into any wires, cost £16.95 off ebay
