HELP fuel starting diagnostic please
#11
Looks like the priming pump and filter housing are moulded together so probably one lump, perhaps someone can confirm or has a parts diagram. Worked for a company a few years ago that had hundreds of fiesta and escort diesels and it was a regular job for the fitters to replace priming pumps on them. When they failed they used to draw a small amount of air in overnight then a pig to start in the morning.
Are we there yet????? Huh

Yes its the same as mine and comes as a complete unit . When they fail you can sometime see diesel around the button .

Hi,
Don't know if it helps but I had same symptoms, fuel seem to be running back to tank caused by air leak, on the third go at it I think the top of the filter chamber was not sealing, new seal from weebay and back to normal 1st time starter! fine since.
seal was pennies, might be worth a try

Hi all , just had the garage out , he says its the filter housing primer pump as he was priming you could see the air bubbles coming up the pipe and diesel coming up the primer pump, so new unit, Citroen part so about £100 for the part plus the tow and fitting Hope this diagnosis helps someone else.

Cheers Mick
