Towbar wiring
#1
Hi,I am a new member and require some assistance!!!
I have fitted a Towbar and am trying to wire the socket to the drivers side rear light cluster, can do everything bar find the wire that feeds the passenger side indicator,
Do I need to run a separate wire from N/S indicator to the O/S indicator or is there a connection to be found behind the O/S toolkit panel.
All help much appreciated (the Haynes wiring diagram is useless!!)
Forgot Model!! 2004 desire 2.0Hdi.

You need to run a wire from the N/S light cluster bud.

I did that originally, that is wire the tow bar into the rear light, and managed to blow the BSI box on my 2007 1.6 Hdi model. It was an expensive lesson and wouldn't recommend wiring the tow bar directly into the van loom. I'd use a smart relay, or maybe the older model is less prone to overloading the circuits...

In my case the trailer developed a fault and over loaded the circuit and blew the lighting circuit in the BSI box meaning that I had no tail lights and no park lights up front..
