Whistler???
#1
Hi everyone,

Got a 2008 blingo SXi here in Turkey with what sound like a I a parrot near the rear passenger seat.

Periodically just after start up when starting to pull away the bloody parrot whistles? just a single note just like someone whistling over my shoulder.

Is this some secret warnig sound, or do I have a parrot or poltergeist in the car??

Does anyone else experience this or is old age sneaking up?

Be glad to hear others opinions

Could it be a build up of dust in the rear brakes?Confusedcratch:

Thanks for your suggestion, but It's unlikley to be that since all drums and calipers were off recently as part of a service.

The sound is uncannily like a single whistle (wish I could describe it better) It has become a bit of a joke with the missus and I.

Could be associated with the air con, which is used most of the time, but the sound seems to come from the rear: maybe from one of the rear speakers?

But no warning lights, or error codes so seems to be a fairly minor thing.

Call it character until the solution is found

See where you are coming from: bit of slippage perhaps. Now that's worth a look!

Will take a look tomorrow and get back.

Thanks for your thoughts on the mystery.

Do you think it's a passing police officer trying to alert his attention? Not every time, surely?

It might be his conscience, the little one on his shoulder Wink

Is it not just the turbo whistling?
I know that sometimes my Blingo makes quite an audible whistle as I pull away in low revs.
