After picking up my xtr on Sunday I spent the last 2 days camping/fishing in Worcestershire. Did about 300 miles, trip computer says I'm getting 47.8 miles to the gallon, not what I was told when buying but probably about right don't you think?

It's all down to driving style, the load you carry, atmospheric conditions, terrain.....

It'll go up as the vehicle is run in.

Yes, that about right (for a 110 XTR anyway)

Mine varies between 53 and 38 depending on how fast I drive it and/or how much headwind. That's not bad (IMHO) for the size/shape of it.

Thanks guys, it's the 90hp and its done 17000 miles.

I've started having a look at the 'bits and bobs' around the car, I've noticed the centre console clips out [anyone know why?] Also in the passenger side glove box is a red and white connector for an ipod/mp3 player [I think] There's also a green and a black connector block, anyone know what that does? Can't see anything in the handbook. Ta.

As Steve says it is down to driving style, load etc. My 110 did 56 mpg in the summer on a trip from Kent to Edinburgh. Cruise control set at 55 mph and very light traffic I was well pleased. If I boot it the consumption does drop dramatically.
The green and black connector is for a computer connection to read out fault codes etc.

Thanks Trevor, Mines an Iron grey xtr90, don't think it has cruise control, yours must have more 'bits and bobs' than mine!

Centre box clips out so you can fold the front seat flat with armrest still attached.you can also remove the armrest and leave centre box in place.

The red and white plugs are audio input to the radio, you can connect Ipods MP3 players etc. You need a lead with 2 phono plugs on one end and a stereo jack on the other, and on the radio you have to select aux.

Cruise control you can add it for the price of the switch and the cost of someone configuring it. My local Citroen agent charged £25 plus VAT to turn mine on.
