1.6 HDI engine capacity
#1
Just thought I'd open up to everyone a conversation that started up on another topic I posted on here.

As you can see below the V5 for my Berlingo says the engince CC is 1598.

And if you search on Google for 1598cc Berlingo you'll find loads of 1.6 HDi's for sale listed as being 1598cc. However all the spec sheets I can find for the DV6 say it's 1560cc so I'm a bit baffled whats going on :S

Just wondered if anyone can shed any light one this?

Strange, mine is shown as 1560. The odd thing I find is that it is shown as 110 but the insurance insists it is 112BHP

So your insurer has thrown up another oddity then?

The only I can think of with the engine cc is that the van has a slightly higher cc than the multispace as I can't see any multispaces advertised for sale as being 1598cc. But it seems odd that there's no mention of a 1598cc version of the DV6 anywhere. :-S

Is 1598 not the capacity of the old 1.6 petrol engine?

According to Parker's all 1.6 TDi diesels are 1560cc and 1.6i petrol
engined cars are 1587cc.

Take a look:
