I have a 2008 1.6 HDi Lx van. Its been a good van for me in the most part until after 77k it started leaking water from what I am told by the mechanic is the distributor chamber at the front of the engine, he tells me it cools the oil?
3 months later the chamber started to leak again and was replaced under warranty.
Now almost 12 months on its started to leak yet again (van now at 161k). Mechanic tells me that at the time of the last replacement Citroen had never had one of these chambers returned as faulty before, not in the whole of the UK. He thinks that they will be reluctant to replace it under warranty again. Further he said that there must be something wrong with the engine if this keeps happening but could not suggest anything that might be causing it.
The van is going in for this repair next Friday. I was hoping someone here could give some insight as to what might be going on. If they refuse to replace it under warranty its over 100 quid in parts.
Any help gratefully received!
OK I have done some searching around and found that this chamber looks like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OIL-COOLER-FOR...4d0a42c918
The water leaks down the outside of the engine and as far as I can tell has no oil in it, and there does not appear to be water in the oil.
