belated introduction
#1
Bought a 2002 mk1 multispace 2.0 hdi earlier in the year and had every intention of introducing myself, to say how pleased I was with it: one owner, low mileage, FSH. Since then however the auxiliary belt shredded and took the timing belt with it, the exhaust fell off and the wiper motor packed in. Now I find myself posting about the front suspension in the problems page without having introduced myself first.
So better late than never.

While I sympathise with your predicament,My constant advice when buying S/H is change all serviceable items to prevent this sort of catastrophy.I hope you can do all or some of the work to keep costs down.Don't buy cheap parts.

Agreed!! 12 years old. Depending on service history I certainly would've changed the
belts. But it's easy to be wise after the event! Let's hope nothing else falls off or breaks.
The Older I get the Better I Was!  Cool
