High Amperage Hidden Plug
#1
Not in my handbook, RPO 8500 (pre-mux).

Behind the front roof light is a white two pin plug with heavy gauge feed wires. Thicker than the cigarette lighter feed. Has anyone an idea what it may be intended for?

I'm tempted to free it from the roof and plumb down for an aux power socket in the console.

I found one in my Mk2 and was wondering if I could use it.
It could be for a electric sunroof, the Haynes manual shows a sunroof motor in the wiring diagrams.

That's exactly what it's for! Remember the old canvas full length sunroof on the Mk.1?
I wouldn't mind betting it would use that supply when it was fitted. I've never seen a Mk.2 with
an electric roof but Citroen may have left it in just in case they made one available or, more
likely, the early Mk.2 used the same harness as the late Mk.1.

Not sure; haven't identified its feed yet. I'd feel comfortable drawing 30A through it. Mine looks pretty much the same as Pieface's photo.

The sunroof idea has one question mark: how do you reverse the motor?

One side of the plug is hard earthed, though.

- Or was the sunroof switch in the roof just there? I'd have assumed it was like other PSA sunroof switches and had a plug like the power window feeds.

I've got an idea... What if it was the power feed for the Modutop auxiliary roof blower?

Rustscrat, does this circuit have a connector "BA 2V"?

Isn't your car prior to 'Modutop' Ad? Did M49 have Modutop?

There was certainly an LHD Modutop in the M49. Haven't found a picture of a RHD one yet.

EDIT: Think I have now: http://www.reliabilityindex.com/buying-guides/view/1441
