Interior Lights etc

Hello all, i'm new to this as I only got hold of my van today. I have a problem with the interior lights and the clock/date display in the middle of the dash. it seems that whenever the van is switched off, as in the ignition isn't on, none of the interior lights work and the clock/date display resets itself. have checked the fuse and its all ok. interior light works when ignition is on.

any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

it's a 1.9l 600 dx diesel, 2004. really simple interior. no electric windows or central locking. haven't tried the cigarette lighter yet, i think that may be on the same circuit? Thanks Ron

With my limited knowledge,I would suggest tracing back to the fuse & see if it's ignition controlled.At that age all sorts of wanabe mechanics/electricians may have had a go.If the wiring looks "played with",get a wiring diagram & rectify what you can.Any probs,ask away,we have some real wizards here,of which I am not one.alutS on my Berlingo the ciggy lighter only works in the accs or ign positions.

Cheers Ron. It has had a new stereo wired in which does look a bit iffy, which may be the cause. However, the rest of the wiring looks pretty much tamper free. will keep the forum posted.
