Installing Electric Windows
#1
I want to install an aftermarket electric window kit to my Berlingo, namely this sort...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Van-Universal-...20b37975c4

Anyone had any experience/tips/tricks/warnings?

I have the Mk2 van, and its annoyingly under-equipped with gadets for a relatively new van, no central locking/lekky windows and so on.

Hi Dan,

I have actually installed a very very similar kit on my own Berlingo, and i wouldn't reccommend it.

Although it is fun to do, if you are that way inclined, it does take a long time, and you need to fiddle quite a bit with your OEM vehicle (drilling holes here there and everywhere). Also, the motor is too big for the door so you need to find an extra screw to hold down the door panel.

I've had mine in 4 months, and now the passenger window wont go up, it goes down, not up. So, i think it's a pain in the arse more than anything.

Thanks for that Andre. Would be good if we had a few more members to get some more feedback. I'll let you know if i go ahead.

Being a courier, its a pain having to wind down the windows to speed to security at gates and so on...

My Bilingo also do not equipped with an electric windows.
I want to install it but only with an original buttons an control it via BSI. But I don,t know exactly. Wether it possible to activate it on BSI?
I know one thing. Wires from BSI comes to socket where doors hinges installed(i do not know how to call this body part in English).
Inside door, there's no wires for electric drive mechanism of a side glasses.

25 years of driving and buggering about with cars would leave me choosing "Keep Fit" windows over electric ones any day.
Far easier to fix and rarely go wrong.
That said, I can understand why you would prefer them. It might actually be easier to source the motor and mechanism off a scrap Multispace and wire in to a switched live from behind the dash and just convert the drivers side window.

Through trying it myself, i wish i had the keep fit windows too. Gonna revert back once i find two interior door panels.

P.s Great to see you guys posting on here.
