front wheel bearing failure
#1
Well folks..after fitting a new (Lucas) front bearing (& new hub for good measure) it would seem we're back to square one within a month!
Yes that new bearing, despite IMO going in well, & despite at the time of post-fitment the wheel spun lovely..it now has more play than the original knacked-one!..?? Do I need to be looking elsewhere for a cause here? (it's only done about 800 miles at 45/50mph)
..stub axle? severe bad alignment? Confusedcratch: :S
Any suggestions most welcome...Cheers now.

I've not had a problem with the Berlingo but my daughter's Corsa wore bearings out due to a damaged stub axle. What torque are you tightening the hub nut to ? I can't find a setting for it but it looks like a straight bearing and they are usually VFT. The rear ones are around 200 lb/ft but I can't find a reference for the front ones.
So where does this bit go then ?

Yes ffrenchie..I'm wondering if the bearing or hub was not fully pressed 'home'..& what felt tight when I swung on that 3/4 drive T-bar was in fact not nipping everything up..??
Gonna blag that big socket etc off my farmer-mate this w/end & see if that nut will go some more..?
(I will be well happy if that's the only fault here).. Cheers now..U.S.
