headlamp adjuster

hi all,
just bought my first berlingo 2003 1.9 mulitspace.
got a problem with the nearside head lamp when the lights are on the motor for the auto adjuster seams to keep running and makes a hideous noise, now what I would like to know is has any one else had the same fault, or a cure. as don't want to go buy a new lamp unit, if it can be stripped apart and sorted

The motor is an integral part of the headlamp unit in mark 2's.
I had the same problem and found a thump from a flat palm on the motor used to stop it sticking on!
Then a luton reversed into me and I got a new unit anyway
