Confused.com (?)

Was having a bit of a bimble thru FleeBay the other night and I came across this: eBay

so I checked about for 'things like this" and found this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250905750780?s...1438.l2649

Now the first one costs £250 while the second one costs £89! They seem to do the same thing so why the difference in price?
First the Nab, then the Warner,
Spit Sand Fort then Blockhouse Corner. DBF!

As far as I know, which ain't a lot,the cheaper one are fixed parameters whilst the more expensive are adjustable.
I think you've opened a can of worms here.
looking forward to see where this goes.

Not only do they do the same thing but they were both probably
made in the same Chinese factory!
Personally I think you'd be better off by letting someone like Quantum Tuning
re-map your ECU.
Why?? All engines, even those in the same model, are slightly different and the tuning
boxes use a generic map which cannot possibly be correct for every engine.
An ECU re-map is done directly to your engine and for your engine only. The re-map
is guaranteed and if you don't like the results companies like Quantum will change it
back to how it was and return your money. I'm not connected with the company but
my 1.6HDi has had their attentions and I wouldn't go back to standard. It's smoother,
it'll pull 30mph in top happily, and umm.....there seems to be more available at higher
performance levels and most importantly it's better on fuel.

I have removed many of these boxes in the past due to various different issues, as previously mentioned , you cannot beat a specific remap for your car.
We also offer this service, and always keep the original files incase you require the car to be returned to standard.
Specific maps are available for either more performance , or Eco tuning for better mpg, as said both are often achieved with a good map.

how easy is it to 'return' it back to standard, as we have a 3 week old Berlingo and have it serviced at main dealer, so every 8 weeks (10,000mls) i'll need to be standard for service, what are my options

As far as my limited knowledge goes,I believe it's undetectable unless it's specifically looked for.IE in normal servicing it's not seen.

Your main dealer won't notice it, they don't have the technology to compare the 'new' map with an original. That's my honest belief.

we had an engine go on a connect so for that they'd look I guess, is it not new filters etc that they would change.
