Removing Bluetooth Gizmo

Hi

Just bought a used Mk3 Berlingo. The previous owner installed a gizmo which I have indentified as a Parrot bluetooth device.

As you can see in the photo, a wire to the device emerges from below the panel above the radio.

I have no use for this thing and want to remove it. How do I open the panel above the radio to disconnect it ?

If you're removing the whole lot, is it for sale?

I would start by removing the radio; you can see the release tool holes on the right in your picture. That should help you see how to remove the upper cover.

Yes. Good point. That's probably how the wire was put in. Where can I get the release tools or something else to do the job ?

You can get the correct tool to get the radio out from a motor factors or halfords or you can use correct sized nails or a bit of strong bent wire. They look like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-RADI...35cca2aaa4

Yes, they are the dedicated type I recommend for the novice. Nails, wire etc work OK if you already know what you're "feeling for" with the little spring catches.

I use 4 x 3mm hss drill bits

I removed the radio and found that the wire from the Parrot bluetooth device leads somewhere round the back of the centre display (Time/Date etc)

Why does it connect there ?

Also - I would be happy to just cut the wire and chuck this thing away, rather than remove the display unit to unplug. Any risk of a problem from doing that ?

UPDATE : For the time being I have bundled the device and its wire with cable tie and shoved it all in behind the radio. So if I change my mind, I can always bring it out again.
