#1
I need help!! My van is very hard to start, It take about 10 attempts to start it. I heat it a couple of times before starting it doesn't seem to work. I changed the glow plugs last week and it still is a pain to start!! Please can anyone give me some advice, thanks.

Are the glow plugs getting voltage? Does it catch readily on ether spray?

We need a few more details really for a comprehensive answer!
As Addo said, check you are getting voltage at the plugs and try the bulb primer for the fuel system first.
Ether spray/Easy start is a spray can used to "encourage" combustion Smile

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

No No, not the dreaded Ether Easy Start..... once you start using, engines get "addicted" to it and won't start without it...

I recommend it only as a diagnostic tool. If the engine catches immediately upon its use and remains running fairly smoothly you have a minor fuelling problem.

If it is still reluctant to catch and staggers once running the issue can be deeper - pump timing and compression check advised.

I'll try the easy start, and post how I get on. Thanks

The only addiction to ether is that of the lazy or skint owner driver who won't rectify the problem.
Good diagnostic tool.
Also good for the first start up of your petrol mower if you've forgotten to drain the fuel out before winter storage.

Smells nice to !!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried the easy start, it didn't work still took ages to start! When I do get it started it sounds very rough. Any tips?
