alternator cost?

Could anyone give me a ball park figure on the cost of getting a new alternator on a 2.0hdi (53)

garage is telling me its taken them 2 days to get the alternator as its a 'specific' one (aren't they all?) and i've been having doubts as to how fair they are being with me for a while now.

Eurocarparts have them priced between £102 and £180 depending on the amperage. Throw in an hour max for fitting £40-£60 ? takes it to max £240.
It will also depend on what percentage they add on for parts.

My advice is always get 2 quotes at least.If you aren't confident with your garage,ask around & find another.There are some real crooks as well as honest guys out there.alut:
