Inlet manifold gaskets or seals
#1
Hi
On the 1.9d DW8 are there any gaskets or seals that have to be replaced on the inlet manifold if it is disturbed?
I want to take mine off to clean it, but I would like to have any seals to hand.

I thinking that there should be some sort of seal here

I believe they have O rings but check with your local friendly partsman.Confusedalut:

They are definitely O rings and as such are reusable. If you follow further down to the metal part of the manifold where this attaches to the engine you will need a gasket but really speaking you are unlikely to want to disturb this part, try a flexi bottle brush dipped in diesel to scrub out the lower part and then wipe with a rag, obviously you don't want to be sloshing the diesel into the manifold / engine do you.
I did this when I removed my intake assembly to clean out and disable the EGR.
I always try to avoid manifold disturbing in case of stud issues ( generally with exhaust I hasten to add ) as access is usually difficult on most motors, especially when an alternative is there, mind you I generally err on caution.
