Bleeding Brakes & Shoe Adjustment

Hi all


1. I am just about to bleed my brakes after fitting new rear shoes and cylinders but need to know if the hand brake should be on or off when Bleeding?

2. When adjusting the rear shoes is the correct adjustment when the shoe is slightly rough on the hub when turned?

Handbrake off, wheels chocked or all four corners on chassis stands.

At least dress your drums to remove the lip, so they may slide on readily. Adjust the shoes up manually, until they drag slightly (with noticeable brushing sound) when cold.

On the Berlingo, I find it's easier to get initial pedal pressure for a bleed, by doing the fronts. Then switch to the rears, then fronts, then rears etc etc. You may find there's a good bit of to-and-fro involved.
