Rear door (hatch) Woes

Anyone tell me the part name for the mechanism that releases the catch from the rear door (hatch) stay? Can't open my rear door, there's a piece of plastic snapped off the bottom of the mechanism which holds the release mechanism.

Hmm....Try Latch actuating lever, or latch actuator.
I'm sure some one who has the parts book will come here and tell me I'm wrong.
