when I bought my 1.9 berlingo it had a high reving tickover ie 1200
any way when my mechanic fitted a new cam belt he adjusted the tickover to 1000 but when starting from cold it would judder and smoke for 30 seconds until I pumped the throttle pedal
so I thought s**t I've bought a bad n
any way today I've put a new set of glow plugs in and cleaned the egr valve and the improvement is night and day
now revs to 4500revs starts on second turn of starter motor and purs on tickover
I don't know if ime more pleased or relived at the results
took it up a hill today and thrashed it for 2 miles 4000 revs + no smoke pulled all the way and no issues what's so ever didn't even get hot
so I recomend a set of glow plugs £33 Ngk ones and a quick clean of the egr valve , it's still black inside but it scraped 3mm of soot off and wiped it with a cloth soaked in petrol
