Door pillar light switch access

Mark 1 Berlingo. Interior lights do not come on when front doors opened. Investigation showed that no wires are currently connected to either switch in pillars. I cannot see any access to the wiring, even with inside trim removed to try to locate connectors which must have fallen off. Can anyone suggest how I can do this? The hole the switch extracts from is too small to work through. Thanks.

I don't know about the Mk 1 but the Mk2 has the switch incorporated in the door lock.cratch:

Get hold of a Boroscope.
some of them even comes with a hook attachment...

Mine has press switches in the door close front pillar. Unless they are redundant I thank there are connectors inside the pillar.
