Failure to turn over or start

Afternoon fellow lingers.
Have myself a 2009 1.6 HDI Van for the last 6 months.
Tried to start yesterday and the thing wont even turn over. Theres 12v at the battery, no warnings on the dash, all connections appear OK. You can hear the starter relay contacts (passenger side) but no solenoid engagement. I Dont own a manual and nothings printed on the fusebox covers. Grrr.
Does anyone know where the starter relay is?
Im abit stuck as to where to look now.

Try testing the voltage of the battery with the headlights on, you may be getting a residual reading. :thumbsup:

Got myself 11.4 volts. Is that good or bad, should be enough to turn the old girl over.

It won't turn over on that voltage, if you want to jump start it, negative lead goes onto point screwed into n/s inner wing under bonnet. If alternator is ok & nothing is discharging battery then It would be a good idea to get a new battery

11.4 volts is no good , as mentioned , these vans have an negative feed point on inner wing, avoid the battery post terminal as this can cause a "spike" and risk damage to ecu etc

Have you left anything on ? , rear interior light ?

The classic example with cars is the boot light switch is knocked to "on" and then drains the battery overnight .

I have known guys to jump to conclusions and change battery and alternator because of the boot light ............:brickwall:

Check the terminals are clean and tight too while your there, again this is a common cause.
