New Alternator Belt
#1
Hello,

I have a 2002 Berlingo 1.9 and the fan belt slipped off. I bought a new belt but am struggling with the tensioner, is it a case of me buying a new tensioner with a locking pin in it already.

My main question is how to get the tensioner off as there is hardly any spave down there (cant even fit my hand down the side let alone tools). Do I have to take the drivers side engine mount off and jack the engine up to get better access?

Thanks

Hi,
Had a quick look in the Haynes manual (no. 4281) and they suggest removing the wheel arch insert to gain more access.
