[Engine] Glow Plug Pre Heat
#1
Hi all,
I have tried to look if this has been covered, and I may have the answer- but just need to clarify.Confusedcratch:

My Lingo will NOT pre heat the plugs- no power to them, BUT once started it will Post heat the plugs for approx 45 seconds.

Would I be right in thinking this would lead me to a 'duff' relay in the control unit on the nearside inner wing?

Thanks in advance

Steve

Which engine do you have? What year? The turbo diesels generally don't activate heaters until the ambient temperature is around
freezing.
The Older I get the Better I Was!  Cool

It's a 52 plate, non turbo. Its the 1.9

Also pulled plugs out- these all check fine, and offside 2 plugs were saturated with oil....... not black carbonised oil, but clean fresh oil??????

Any ideas?

I am also poking arround to try to get rid of my: "pre post heating relay circuit coherence" error. Although I have a 2.0 HDI engine, I measured the same, no heating until the engine has started, but for a few minutes. So, there might be no pre heating, but still post heating once the engine runs, but no one on this forum who can confirm this unfortunately.

The 1.9 non HDI needs pre heat to start.
My old un wont start from cold without them.
You need to check out the circuits/temperature input etc
