'STOP' warning
#1
Hi All,

While driving today, the STOP warning light started flashing below my speedo. I did as i was told and stopped and turned off engine. started up after 5 mins and light was off so i carried on. 20 mins later happened again only this time by the the time i was able to stop the light was off. there were no other warning lights on and no problems for final hour of driving. Any ideas?

Cheers

Brake fluid may need a top-up.

+1 I've had this issue, the brake fluid level sensor seems to be very sensitive on the Berlingo and if the fluid is ever so slightly below the MAX mark it can sometimes trigger the STOP light, usually the brake warning light comes on too.

As the brake discs/linings wear the level drops slightly and triggers the alert. Quite normal mine does it.

Mine comes on often on German mountain roads mainly going downhill.Presumably this is to instill maximum confidence.Confusedcratch::whistle:

check for fluid leaks at the base of the rear brake drum back plates and around the front calipers.

If it's the fluid warning then the "!" in a red circle symbol should stay on as well. It does not have to drop much to trigger it. Look for damp on the inside of the rear tyres when it has been parked up overnight if the cylinders are leaking.
