Multi Function Display
#21
Firstly, although they are essentially the same, mine is a Peugeot Partner. It has what you would know as the modutop so would equate as a Desire rather than a Forte - is this what you refer to as a higher spec?

There are a few pieces of hardware necessary, the correct display unit, two switches on the pedals, and the column switch. However, these are useless without having the option available in the ECU.

If anyone wants to try to enable the trip computer you would have to find out via Lexia or Planet whether it is possible. This would need to be done by either a dealer or someone with access to that programme.

It does not appear to be dependant on spec. However, I stand to be corrected..................

So whilst it is possible, it is not a realistic proposition at that price. If it was a case of the cabling alone then I might have gone ahead as they would have secondary uses but I can't justify £150 to myself let alone she who must always be right.

Hi, I have successfully installed cruise control in my Berlingo mk2 by myself, so I can give some advice for it.
Now I have a new project: installing multifunction display. I have only clock on my display now. I found that are different connectors for display with clock and other displays. Is it possible to buy just cabling for multifunctional display?

I installed the cruise in mine and then wanted to activate the computer - that's what led to this thread.

All parts can be bought from a main dealer, or if you are lucky enough found in a scrapyard. As I said above, the main problem is whether the function is available, as opposed to activated, in the ECU. I would advise you to find this out first, before spending any money on parts that might eventually be useless to you.

Yes of course. You are right. Before I continue "my projects" I have to inspect my car with Lexia. Tomorrow I am going to check it. Thanks again for advice.

I haven't read this thread in totallity, so i may be off, but i was planning to install CC in a MK4 Golf, and the Litmus test in that car to see if it could take CC was to floor the accelerator with your foot on the brake, if it could take CC the revs would level off at 4k. I think they call it drive by wire.

Like i said, may be totally off. Turning into an old fart already, rambling on.

Today I have installed display B. I can use trip computer now, but I still don't see external temperature. Where do I need to connect temperature sensor?

The sensor is mounted in the left door mirror. You may or may not have one in there already.

The wiring I think would run with the rest of the wiring in the multi connector in the door.

When you ran Lexia, what did it show regards the trip computer? What display did you use? Was it new or from a scrap vehicle?

I had display with only clock. So I took from a scrap vehicle display like Chris posted pictures and modify connector of display. I have confirmed display B in Lexia. About trip computer I did not found anything in Lexia. By removing tap of wipers switch and making contact with a wire I can manage trip computer. I am going to search on scrap vehicles for a tap with 2 arrows.
