delayed igniyion pre heat

hi fellow Berlingo ers, I have resently developed a pre heat delay problem, with a twist! When the ignition is turned on the digital display is very very slow. The "spanner/ sevice interval", then "temperature" then "clock and current mileage" at which point the glow plug symbol comes on then goes out, is now suddenly taking 16 seconds! whereas before it was taking about 5 or 6. I have cleaned and checked the earths, battery to engine and bonnet to body shell. Please, any ideas or suggestions, thanx

a few different Berlingos! This sounds like a bad earth somewhere!

sunny good morning, my berlingo is a 2000 model 1.9 deisel. the problem almosts seems like the electric supply is struggeling and is delaying somehow. thanks

hi and thanks, i ve checked and cleaned the 2 earths i can find, body to bonnet near the hinge and the battery negative terminal, are there any more? i only disconnected, cleaned contact areas, should i lightly grease these areas too to optimise the conntact points? thanks
