Hi bingoers,
1st post on the site, been browsing for a while now. Some very useful and interesting advice to be had. I have a 2006 (56 reg) Berlingo 1.9 Enterprise with a genuine 12,400 miles, in Polar White which I have had since new. Centre exhaust section with CAT replaced along with 1 gear linkage during its lifetime. All ply lined , towbar and electrics fitted by myself. Have some minor electrical gremlins behind the dash (some warning light come on faintly in certain combinations when the head lights and foglights are bein used etc) Has come up all clear and ok when checked on the code reader at my work. The query I do have however is has any one come across the problem of the rear axles failing. By this I mean the rear wheels begin to splay outwards as if under the strain of a huge weight being carried. We have had quite a few Peugot Partner vans of varying age -55 to 57 reg having this problem at my work.Failure appears to be in the roller bushes on the axles which wear away to such an extent that the only fix is a replacement axle. Sone of the vans have only done 50,000miles. Our mechanics reckon that a simple addition of a grease nipple would cure the problem but Peugot wont go there. Can I expect my Bingo to go the same way? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks for a very informative site.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I haven't heard of this problem with Berlingos either. Given that your van appear to have a very easy life, it is probably not worth worrying too much about.

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

Thanks Coco and Chris. My van is only used for travel to and from work and the usual runs to garden centres and bulky shopping. It is well looked after and kept spotless and is unmarked. Will monitor the axle situation. The vans at work are used daily by roads engineers and surveyors from the local council roads department. Love the site and will be a regular visitor. Many thanks again, all the best from Scotland.
Dave.
