No turn over
#1
On Monday I went out to my berlingo 2.0 hdi Multispace '04 that turned over twice and then stopped? I have since charged the battery and checked all fuses etc and yet the vehicle still wont turn over?
All dash lights come on as normal and all other electrics work.
Is there any known faults that I should be aware of such as relays, fuses etc that are located somewhere that you cant see?

Does the starter attempt to turn ? .

If it dosent then suspect battery connections to solenoid ,earth straps to chassis, starter motor ,
Check fuses in engine fuse box and the solenoid is getting a signal from the ignition switch when turned. (Need a test lamp or multimeter to check)

May just be a duff starter motor , try hitting it with a hammer gently while someone else is holding the key in start position

If starter is trying to turn then suspect engine not allowing it to turn it. eg broken timing belt/camshaft/valves.

The Starter motor doesn't turn at all. when I put the ignition on I can here the relay click but nothing cranks? I haven't had any signs of a possible faulty starter motor?

Have you tried brodfathers' suggestions?Confusedcratch: It's no good asking for advice if you ignore it.

Hi tinks3010,
I had the same problem, I was told if the car will bump start and runs it is the starter motor. Mine did start from a bump start so I changed the starter motor and all was solved. May be worth a try

So I took your advice brodfather and whacked the starter motor whilst having someone turning the key in which the starter motor did try and move. I changed the starter motor last night and all is working well.
Thanks for all your help

Great; always good to pinpoint the cause first time.
