I have an aftermarket LPG kit fitted to my 1.6 2004 model.

Just make sure the LPG system if fully functioning as people often get rid when it goes wrong!

It may have a 63 litre tank, but you won't get 63 litres in it. It fills to 80% max capacity as it has to have 20% air gap and you will get a reduced MPG on gas to petrol of between 10 and 15% normally.

A functioning LPG system usually pulls the price up, and even without it, it sounds a bit low, to me.

x reg 2001.How do I check lpg system is working properly. the van i'm buying seems ok on petrol. have asked seller to put some gas in and hear it running on lpg before I buy.

Drive it on LPG. Don't assume it's working because it's fitted. You could spend the same amount of cash again fixing the LPG set up if it's knackered.

Make sure it swaps over to LPG once warmed up. Make sure it runs and drives just the same as it does on petrol and there's no emission light coming on to suggest the LPG set up is faulty or in need of attention.

If you have a code reader, worth having the ECU read for any stored faults..

LPG is less tolerant than petrol too. If there's anything up with the petrol side of the car it will show up when running on gas. It's like shining a torch through the engine.

Your insurer may want a copy of the lpg installation certificate, you may want to check with them, does one come with the vehicle?

no certificate will check if it has dual fuel on logbook. I spoke to an installer who did some repairs on the van and he said he remembers it was 'nt horrendous and was a good van on the lpg side

This has the potential to be either quite a shed or a bargain.

Forgive me if I'm teaching you to suck eggs, but check the rear axle (much negative camber on rear wheels?), the front springs/struts for lots of rust/crumbling away and for signs of cylinder head gasket failure.

collected van with 12 months mot and it works on gas just need to get used to the cable clutch and no power steering
