gearbox problem

i have a 1.6 turbo berlingo 2008,there is a noise from around the gearbox,in or out of gear,all joints,wheel bearings seem fine.im now looking at gearbox oil.anyone know how to check/fill it.or any other ideas on what the problem might be.thanks
