keeping it in the family

So i love my 'lingo even if it is a old battered Mk1 1.9d.
but i thinking of changing come summer and have been looking at a Xsara Picasso 2.0HDI. The reasons for are that i rarely use the space in the 'lingo to its full capacity and i would like something thats more car orientated ie better Mway cruising and fuel economy., whilst still having a good load space when needed (mountain bike/climbing and camping trips etc)

So my questions are has anyone any experience with them, things to look out for and whats a good buy. My budget is around £1500 - £1700 and would be looking around 8 to 10y old.

Thanks
Ricky
