[Filters & Oil] Pollen Filters
#1
Had a few minutes to spare while waiting for my oil to drain today, so decided to see how difficult it was to get at and change the pollen filters on my Mk3

The manual says to remove the trim bellow the fascia and then pull out the first one towards you and then the second one by lifting and then pulling towards you

I found that if you only remove the 'trim below the fascia', you have to contort yourself in to an almost impossible shape on you back to be able to see what you are doing, plus it then makes it almost impossible to bend your arms to get at the filters

I had to remove a second bit of trim directly below the steering column.
Removing this bit of trim means you don't need to break you back to get the job done, plus it gives you a better line of sight to the filters

Next time I will also use something on the ground for my knees as a bit of padding - I now have little indentations in the skin where all the little stones dug in

Overall impressions to complete the job
1. Piece of old carpet or the like for your knees
2. Remove the extra piece of trim to make it easier to see
3. Cut your hand if half so that it is small enough to get at the filters
