Hi, I´m Tommie (Berlingo 2 hdi 75 08) cager from Germany.
I´ve been very happy with it so far but have a blown out turbo now after 3 years 80000km. It is out of warranty and Citroen wants over 3000€ for the fix.
I learned on the german forum that this happens often, but it seems that no one did fix it diy yet. I´m on a mission now and any advice is welcomed.
The parts should arrive this weekend, got a good deal at friendly Peugeot dealer and all parts including that oilpan upgrade that is recommended by citroen ( why didn´t they tell me I should get a different oilpan in the first place I wonder?)
Do you have the same kinda probs over there?
Cheers!

Yes, I will use the search function now that I can.

Grüss Dich Tommie,

Sorry to hear about your blown turbo. If pk7478 comes along I'm sure he can provide you with lots of info. He's an independent dealer in Russia and know's Berli's inside and out.

Gruß zurrück Tom!
got the parts just now, don´t see anything inside the oilpan that looks like an upgrade...loads of washers etc, guess the turbo is a garrett. Total price was 800€. Will start working on it tomorrow. In August I will be near Richterswil? on lake zurich, hopefully with the berlingo.

ok, I got some internal instruction on how to do the job from citroen and I have some instruction from Motair. Should have all parts and info to do the job. One problem I see coming at this point is how to reset the error code, the yellow engine warning light is on and I fear engine will only be running in safe mode? I guess after starting it several times and after some time it goes away by itself? Is there the possibility to reset it manually?

ok, job done. Wasn´t too bad really. Engine light went out today by itself. Just need to change oil again and I should be all set.
The oilpan uprgrade is a big joke, only difference is the oil pump nozzle now has a bit of wire mash on it... Guess they replace the pan just because it is kinda hard to get it off without damaging it since it is glued on without gasket.

damn! 8000k and 3 months later the turbo is dead again!
Done everything by the book, maybe just bad luck with the exchange turbo or is something else causing it... clueless

I'm not a independent operator. Cars is just my hobby.
