MK1 1.9d Runaround
#1
Hello folks, signed up a while back and forgot all about the place.

Bought this a few weeks ago for the huge sum of £200. Had no mot or tax and was absolutely stinking inside.

Usual berlingo rot spots behind the headlights needed patched, 1 return spring on the load sensing valve and 1 n/s balljont seen me on the road with a years test.

Decided to treat it to a fresh set of steelies that we had in the garage for the past 12 years and 2 new load rated tyres.

Standard radio didnt work so fitted up a new Alpine headunit with bluetooth incorporated. Very good head unit for the money and then decided to stick in my alpine sub and amp.

Will hopefully be plylining the van this week and making a ply bulkhead.

Will get some more pics and progress up soon.

haha with the dust, dirt, screws, nails and food behind the seats they had to come out!!

Fitted up a central locking kit last week. Just a generic ebay kit for £20. Very very impressed with it for the money and very easy to fit. The remote is nice and neat too and doesnt look too bulky or ugly.

Still have the rear door to do but its a bit more involving.

Very happy with the little van so far and its still costing me very little. Put a timing belt onto it last week and gave it two new droplinks as the old ones were knocking a bit on rough ground.

Hopefully this week I will get it plylined if work settles down a bit and another good polish AND if the funds are still ok maybe a new front wing as its a bit damaged.

What rot spots do you mean? Always thought these things were pretty rust-proof, don't mind doing preventative maintenance though!
