I would be grateful for any advice on this issue, are the springs replaceable?

Thanks.

Years ago on here a Slovenian member had some springs made so they must be replaceable. I would strip the handle and look what kind of spring it needs as a lot of them are comon to different makes.
So where does this bit go then ?

Yeah, I found that thread when I searched the forum, I think he was selling the springs on ebay for a couple of quid at the time, I couldn't find any for sale now though.

You can get a replacement handle on ebay for about £7 so that may be the answer, just use the spring from the new handle.

Let us know how it goes? I think the spring on my doors is still there, just a little tired after many thousands of openings.

looking at pictures of the offending handles It looks like a spring like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Torsion-Spring...OSwPRlXn2W- . I think in the name of research someone should take their broken handle to bits and take a few measurements and then we can search out the correct spring. Think of all the thanks you would get.
Are we there yet????? Huh

There may be an off the shelf spring that would do the job, it's just a case of finding it.

So how is the door handle removed, you have to drill the rivet out don't you?
