Rear Brake Pad Tool

To wind back the caliper piston on an 2009 XTR does the piston have to rotate clock wise(as per the Citroen service info) or anti clockwise (as per a number of suppliers of the wind back tools on ebay)

If there is someone who can confirm from their hands on experience it would be appreciated.
