Berlingo Head Unit Upgrade
#1
Good Afternoon All

Recently became the proud owner of a 2012 Citroen Berlingo LX Van (overjoyed compared with the previous heap I had the pleasure of driving).

Anyways, looking for some advice from anyone who has some knowledge on upgrading the head unit. Essential that I need bluetooth hands free and additionally would really like the option of having an aux in or USB connection for my MP3.

Is it pretty straightforward to replace the head unit with an aftermarket unit from Sony/Kenwood etc? And what draw backs may I encounter? ie dash display clock, stalk not working etc.

Additionally, if anyone can provide any details on what extras may be required or a suitable unit, muchly appreciated

Many thanks in advance.

it depends whether you want to fit a 1 single din radio or a double din one

i know with mine it was an easy swap all you need is a wiring kit which can be got of the likes of ebay. Although i found when i swapped mine the radio fm/am signal got worse, dont know what is the cause of it in mine but i doubt everyone found the same thing?

you wont be able to change time on the center display as its via the headunit, I double din'd mine, I got the right cables so the remote still works

I was told by Halfrauds today that a double din head wouldn't fit my 2009 XTR.

Did you need anything special to fit it - I was told I'd need to cut something???

Just make a ghetto boom box, its simpler and cheaper. Google it

you need to cut a bit of plastic out that fits between stereo and storage box below, really easy and I checked and you can fit original stuff back without it

Connect2 sell an interface that lets you keep the stalk/wheel controls and it can adjust all the features (time and rear wiper) on the top centre display.......while operating the new head unit.

Cannot remember the part number but will let you know when I get to shed..

Makes it all plug and play and with almost any popular head unit...

Cool
