1.8 petrol starting

Hello all
Having issues with the starting of the bus. It's a mk1 1.8 petrol had a new battery and starter and still won't do anything. I put. The key. In the lights come on and when I turn it nothing happens. Is there anything normally that goes wrong?

These are quite a basic unit. I'd say there's either an aftermarket alarm /immobiliser fitted or damaged wires. Check the round multiplugs inside the engine bay for corrosion. Often the solenoid trigger wire is marked *100* along its length regardless of colour.
