Brighter interior bulbs for 10reg XTR

I believe the original bulbs are standard filament W5W (501) type of bulb

Has anyone tied using any LED or any other type of bulb to give a brighter light than the standard ones

I'm looking for a direct replacement for the standard bulbs not an aftermarket lighting bar that I have to wire in somewhere

I understand that a brighter light may be accompanied by greater heat, so was hoping someone else has tried brighter bulbs before I buy and melt the fittings on my XTR

Led's is the way to go make sure they work with cambus or they may flicker and go out :thumbsup:

Looked at Osram webpages but can't seem to find interior bulbs, plenty of headlamp bulbs but not the ones I have been seeking. Any suggestions?

I use phillips led in the cupe and boot. Works perfeckt and BRIGHT light.
Only problem is when the light goes out after 10sec or so after You have closed the door. The led bulbs wont turn off properly. it is a tiny glow in all the led bulbs. When the power safe mode kicks in after 30min. The light goes compleately off.

From what I've found so far, there are two main types of the 501 bulb

1. ones with a resistor built in so that it is compatible with canbus

2. ones without a resistor ( not compatible with canbus) - these are for older cars which have no canbus

I need the ones with the resistor built in, but there is a problem, the canbus compatible ones also state that they cannot be used with fading lights i.e the interior lights that slowly fade after a minute or so
This the issue that Tikki seems to be experiencing with his Phillips LED's
They would be fine for the map reading lights or the side lights, as these don't fade off

you can get 501 bulbs on flea bay ive had mine for over 2 years now no problem work well in side lights or interior lights
