door warning light

Hi fellow Berlingoers, i seem to have a problem with my door warning light, it stays on after all the doors are closed and locked when driving, also the interior light stays on unless i manually switch it off which is no use when it is dark outside and i open the doors to get in, could any one tell me how to fix this please. Its an X reg 5 door multispace. Thank you

I would suspect the wiring to the door where flexing with frequent opening/closing may have shorted,OR the sw itself has gone to earth.alut:

Thanks Ron have check the wiring and there does not seem to be any breaks in it , but i took out the plunger/door switch , and there were no wires attached to the two prongs so i'm thinking i'll need to investigate it further but the hole is a tad small :-s

That's not a common complaint.:whistle::whistle:Can you access from the rear of the pillar? If not,a bit of bent wire can sometimes persuade the wire to appear.Good luck.

i too have the same problem but cant seem to find fault,, can anyone tell me what colour wires i should be looking for so i can isolate them.... in a huff :brickwall:

Bit of a zombie thread but same in mine- interior lights stay on, warning light on when all doors shut and no wires connected to switches! What colours am I looking for to go to the door switches?
