Heater resistor location Mk2 1.6 16v multispace

The usual Berlingo of death full speed only is going on right here, I've had the heater blower motor out and the resistor is'nt visible on any part of the motor casing, there are plenty of threads on here for the aluminium "bannana" shaped transistor pack type, but i cant see anything for what i assume is this type.

Any one come across these? Or do i just need to get back under the dash after going to Specsavers?

this resister is located just above the blower motor housing ,just slide it up and it will pop out,it has a white power plug attached to it

   

very easy fix ,go to maplins or any other good electrical component shop and buy 1 x thermal fuse i think the ones i bought were rated at 150c
the fuse on the end you can just cut it off and very carefully solder the new one in its place,took me 10 minutes,i have done lots and works every time,you can get crimps if you dont want to risk soldering because there is a chance you will blow the fuse
they cost about £2 each in maplins

I think.... the banana shaped resistor pack is only on the air con model.

Thanks Tommy, i'm skilled at soldering so will definitely give your fix a go!
Your description as a thermal fuse also now makes perfect sense, as the motor brushes had also worn and were showing high resistance...

Great information thank you. Would this thermal resistor be the same as the one used on the Modutop rear blower by any chance?
