high level clock radio display

I have a 2006 1.9 d berlingo and the high level clock and radio display only seems to work in daylight and then it is very dim ,even putting headlights on does not seem to make any difference any ideas thanks for reading

Hi I have replaced the bulbs in the radio/clock display before this is how you do it.
There is a large cover over it, take a small wall scraper and prise the cover off it is held in place by plastic wedge things.
Behind the screen are 3 bulb holder just turn them to the right and they come out.
