Car is Booked into Arnold Clark on Friday so they can diagnose it would rather not use them but parts should be under auto care warranty so needs must .
I did email citroen as advised and there reply was if I booked it into a main dealer for investigation they would cover the parts if it was found to be a manufacture fault but obviously couldn't guarantee it.

If the thrust bearing is noisy then it needs fixing. I suppose you have to trust them in as much as they will decide whether it is a premature failure & covered by warranty or wear & tear. When my egr valve failed 6mths out of warranty, after an email exchange with Citroen UK they paid for parts & I paid for labour so met halfway. Will they not give you a courtesy car? My Citroen garage does.

I fail to see how it is not premature failure!
My lingo is 10 years old with 150,000 miles on the clock and as far as I know it has never failed.
