I need to loose some weight!

I popped around to the local scrap yard this morning to weigh in an old washing machine for scrap. Anyway I was a bit shocked to discover the weight of my Berlingo 600 with me in it after washing machine had been removed was 1320kg, the gross max weight is 1730kg so if my maths are right that gives me a payload of 410kg :eek: I was expecting payload to be around the 500kg mark.

Luckily I only carry really heavy loads once in a blue moon but it's worrying as I know I will have been overweight in the past. I need to have a look at what personal items I can get rid of I think to shed some weight.

Don't expect scrap yard scales to be accurate!

Go off your book for your max payload , don't forget yourself , passengers and fuel all affect your max payload too.

The only big scales I'd trust is the scales belonging to the Norwegian 'DMV'.
They're used to check trucks for overweight, and when you calculate the fines, you better have the correct weight, or the trucker will fight you in court.
