No V6,, BSI is the onboard computer housed underneath the passanger fusebox,, The ECU is engine control unit housed behind the battery

i believe relays are built into BSI and cant be replaced,, but if it helps my 2002 1.9 has them disabled and works fine,, check it out,, some one else told me not to get 2nd hand BSI as they only have problems too.. i got a diagnostics check done this morning and all that came up was the mass air flow sensor,, was heavy on diesel and was told to change filter and clean sensor with contacts spray,, not to touch,,, hopefully it will help
seatbelt alarms disabled i mean

If you replace the BSI with a used one, you will need to change the engine ECU & key set as well if it is a hdi version, all must be off the same vehicle.
If the car is a 1.9, then the job is more tricky.

Hi lighty, that's what I was led to believe, so that's a no no.
Joemc20, did you disable yourself or get in done in a garage ? My problem is because I live in france, tbey want to change bsi unit, 300 plus euro ! And I had hoped to be able to cancel or disable the alarm myself, or even tape over the little speaker lol, if I could find it......where is it ?
