Recently got a 2013 Partner Tepee Family model - like Multispace.
It has a shade over 5,000 miles from new and came from Peugeot Factory Technical Dept. It has the usual annoying rattle on certain road surfaces - rough tracks, no problem, smooth black top ditto. It's the slightly poorer than perfect surfaces which produce the noise. I have a mate with an identical late 2009 car which had the same but much worse at 20,000 miles. He eventually shoved it back to the indy dealer who charged him in excess of £200 to cure it. It only improved it to where mine is now. The Peugeot dealer I bought mine from said they are 'Not the quietest of suspensions' and for now I left it at that. Did Peugeot/Citroen really produce a car with a 'Characteristic' noise in spite of the huge number I see on the road?I still feel that it is the ARB drop links - even though everyone says new ones will not cure it.
Has anyone tried a test drive with the links removed and the ARB supported? - on private land if there are any paranoid folk reading this.
I feel that the drop link lining material is just not compliant enough and might make a couple up myself with rose joints at each end.
Anyone made any improvement or do I just ignore it? I realise it's not like my XJ8 Jaguar, but it should not make noises like this. I know it's not likely to lead to catastrophic failure anytime soon, but as a time served Aero Engineer, it's not on.
