My Mk2 needs a re-gas..... never get round to having it done though!

about £40 here at local workshop i just leve it on my last car my dad has now 10years old a/c still ok never bin re-gas if u turn off for tolong seals go hard gas leaks out

Yes a/c should be run for at least half hr per week all year. Certainly nice to have today.

@tucker: I bought a diy regas can that is a gas/oil mix with a pressure gauge that attaches directly to the system. Cost £15 and made a big difference. If the system works but is a little weak its worth a try. If the systems empty then it'll be the local specialist!

A/C was a must here yesterday. Got up to 94. Today supposed to be warmer then thunder and lighting in the afternoon.
2010 Berlingo Multispace HDi 110 with FAP.  Persamos green.

I have AC but when I use it the temperature guage goes up quite alot, any ideas anyone??

divingscubaboy, considered that, but it doesn't work at all. I think the volume is too low, so it won't even run.
I was going to take it anf get it checked for leaks then re-gassed. There's always something else to spend my cash on though!

@ Pitman: Number of reasons why temp goes up. When a/c on your engine drives a compressor putting the engine under additional load. If the system is low on refrigerant it will be working harder and the compressor will run for longer before cycling on/off. When cooling the air con system becomes very hot as the refigerant draws the heat out of the air to be cooled there is an additional rad to be cooled which iirc is in front if the engine rad. All this has an effect on the engine temp.
