I have been trawling eBay and I found a laptop with peugeot planet installed complete with all the cables.. I thought it might be a handy tool to have.

What exactly can you do with it? Obviously you can read fault codes etc.

Can you activate optional extras? Cruise, auto lights etc (With stalks installed)

What else can you do with it?

You can check all engine parameters, code in new keys , or another radio, alter every configuration on the car, such as wether the hazard lights come on under heavy braking, doors lock when driving off.
Probably the most useful is to check for faults in every ECU on the car, mainly the engine.
